1. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The DRC MP CAN is a remote controller compatible with the Audison AF bit amplifiers line with integrated DSP. It must be connected to the DRCC port of an AF bit device using the supplied cable.

Its slim profile combined with the holder supplied facilitates installation in the best position in the car. The Joystick, finished "Rubber Touch" for maximum control of movements in the four direction axes, allows adjustment of the "DRC Settings" menu and "Navi Command" navigation for system setup.

Thanks to the possibility to select twenty different colors for the keyboard, the integration of the DRC MP CAN with the car dashboard is highly facilitated. The new white character OLED display has an integrated sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness of the characters based on the light in the passenger compartment and remains readable from any viewing angle.

4. INSTALLATION

Before installing the components, please carefully read all of the instructions contained in this manual. It is advisable to carefully follow the highlighted instructions. Failure to respect these instructions may cause unintentional harm or damage to the components.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

1. Make sure your car has a 12 volt DC negative ground electrical system.

2. Before installing the DRC MP CAN, turn off the source and all other electronic devices in the audio system to prevent any possible damage.

3. Do not install components inside the engine compartment or expose them to water, excessive humidity, dust or dirt.

4. Never run cables outside the vehicle or install the amplifier next to mechanical or electronic devices.

5. Install the DRC MP CAN only in areas of the vehicle where internal temperature is between 0°C (32°F) and 55°C (131°F).

6. Make sure that the positioning does not interfere with the proper functioning of the car’s electrical or mechanical devices.

After installation, verify that the light sensor on the front panel of the DRC MP is not obscured.

7. Make sure not to short-circuit the cable of the DRC MP CAN during installation and connection and only use the cable provided in the giftbox.

8. Use extreme caution when cutting or drilling on the metal sheet/chassis, making sure that in the area concerned there is no electrical wiring or structural element of the car. If necessary, use the appropriate mounting bracket.

9. Use rubber grommets to protect the wire when running through holes in metal and use proper materials if close to heat-generating devices.

6.1 FIRMWARE UPGRADE ON BITDRIVE UPDATE CENTER

6.2 ALTERNATIVE FIRMWARE UPGRADE BY LAPTOP

The download of the latest firmware release is always available in the DRC MP CAN product webpage and in the Support page of the Audison website.

In order to update the DRC MP CAN firmware the user follow the steps below:

Close the bit Drive software
Connect the AF bit to the PC with USB
Connect the DRC MP CAN to the AF bit
Open the folder DRC MP CAN_Update (vx.x.x.x), right-click on the file exe and select “Run as administrator”. The following window will appear.

Press on Refresh if the device is not detected.
Press Update and wait for completing the upgrade.

IMPORTANT: pay attention to not disconnect the DRC MP CAN from the amplifier and to not disconnect the amplifier from the PC during the upgrade. This could lead to malfunctioning or a break.

At the end of the upgrade the following message will show up.

Press for 2 seconds the encoder joystick of the DRC MP CAN to turn it off (in this case the amplifier will stay on)
Press the Menù button of the DRC MP CAN to turn it back on. The device is now ready and updated.

7. RESCUE MODE

In case of critical malfunctioning of the DRC MP CAN or incorrect communication with the processor, it is possible to recover it by entering the "Recovery" mode.

To run recovery mode follow these steps:

Turn off the processor
Disconnect the DRC MP CAN cable from the processor.

Turn on the processor
Press the DRC MP CAN knob, keep pressed the knob and reconnect the DRC MP CAN to the processor, wait for the central LED to become white colored, release the pressure of the knob.
