7. SPEAKER CONNECTIONS
All Voce II speakers have two sets of terminals:
- one standard set
- one set inside an OEM-grade 2-pin connector.
A matching OEM-grade connector with bare-wire “pigtails" is included in the kit. This “pigtail” connector can be connected to the system speaker wires, either with solder or mechanical crimp connections, and provides for simple disconnection and proper reconnection during vehicle service. If the pigtail connector should be mislaid, the standard terminals on the Voce II speakers can be used.

8. CROSSOVER
8.1 ACTIVE FILTERS RECOMMENDED WITH DSP
- AV 1.1 II - This tweeter can be highpass filtered as low as 1800 Hz (Linkwitz-
Riley, 24dB/octave). This is best in 2-way alignments paired with a 6.5 woofer.
VOCE II Guide Additions
Note: when using the AV 1.1 II with a small midrange such as the AV 3.0 II, a
crossover in the 3000 Hz range is recommended
- AV 3.0 II - This midrange can be highpass filtered in the 300 - 500 Hz range
(Linkwitz-Riley, 24dB/octave). The final crossover point is a function of the incar
performance of the AV 3.0 II and the woofer playing the notes below those
routed to the AV 3.0 II. Low-pass the AV 3.0 II symmetrically, at the high-pass
filter frequency for the tweeter. - AV 6.5P II - This woofer can be high-pass filtered as low as 70 Hz (Linkwitz-
Riley, 24dB/octave). It can deliver excellent off-axis midrange without
equalization beyond 2000 Hz (unusual for a 165mm woofer!). Symmetrical
low-pass crossover filters at the high-pass frequency of the associated tweeter
or midrange are recommended. - AVX 6.5 II - This coaxial can be high-pass filtered as low as 70 Hz (Linkwitz-
Riley, 24dB/octave). When using this coaxial speaker in an active 2-way
alignment, a 3000 Hz crossover point is recommended (Linkwitz-Riley, 24dB/
octave). - AVK 6S II - This kit uses the AV 1.0 II tweeter and AV 6.5S II woofer. The AV 1.0
II tweeter can be high-pass filtered as low as 3000 Hz (Linkwitz-Riley, 24dB/
octave). The AV 6.5S woofer can be high-passed as low as 70 Hz (Linkwitz-
Riley, 24dB/octave). The AV 6.5S should be symmetrically low-pass filtered at
the same frequency that the high-frequency speaker is high-pass filtered.

| SWITCH | CAR | DISPLAY BOARD |
| HFC | ON 2 | OFF |
| HI BOOST | OFF | ON |
| MID FREQ. CONTOUR | ON | OFF |
| TW LEVEL | 0 db | bypass |
IMPORTANT: remind that the default setup of the product is CAR.
The AVCX 2 P TW can be used in Bi-amp ON or Bi-amp off mode.
1. BI-AMPING ON
in this case one amplifier channel is connected to the Tweeter Input terminals, and another amplifier channel is connected to the Woofer Input terminals. These amplifier channels can be adjusted individually for best sound.
IMPORTANT: In this mode the “BI-AMPING” switch on the circuit board must be set to ON before playing the system, or damage to the equipment may result.
2. BI-AMPING OFF
In this case one amplifier channel is connected to the passive crossover’s input terminals, and that amplifier channel will power both the tweeter and the woofer. It does not matter whether the amplifier channel is connected to the Woofer or Tweeter Input terminals (these are commoner on the circuit board in standard mode).
Note: In this mode the “BI-AMPING” switch on the circuit board must be set to OFF, or one speaker will not play sound.
