1.1 PC SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
The bitDrive software can be installed in every PC equipped with Windows 10 or 11 operating system. For the installation it is important to have an active Internet connection, in order to ensure the download of the Microsoft .NET Framework files (these are needed for a proper funtioning of the software) if they are not already installed in the PC.
Once the new bitDrive release has been downloaded, the user can open the bitDrive (vx.x.x.x) folder, right-click on the executable file setup.exe and selecting Run as administrator.
The following window will appear;
Press Next to proceed.
Press I Agree to proceed.
Press Browse if the user wants to change the bitDrive folder location in the PC, otherwise press Next to proceed.
Press Next to proceed and wait until the installation is completed.
Press Close to terminate.
The icon of the software executable file and all other software folders will be available at the following PC patch C:\Program Files (x86)\Audison\bitDrive.

To uninstall the bitDrive software the user can follow the standard procedure of Windows operating systems:

1.3 PC SOFTWARE UPDATE
Once the new bitDrive release has been downloaded, the user can follow the same installation procedure shown in section 1.1 PC SOFTWARE INSTALLATION. The previous software release will be automatically overwritten.
1.4 FIRMWARE UPGRADE
This function does not require active Internet access - however, the latest firmware must be downloaded from the Internet. This can be downloaded at Audison web portal.
◼︎Take care to keep the bit Processor and the PC powered on, and the USB cable firmly
connected, during the firmware update process. Power or connection failure can result in malfunctioning equipment.
◼︎If the vehicle battery is questionable, connect an automotive-capable +12DC power supply to the battery until the firmware process is complete.
◼︎Do not change the position of the UPGRADE switch during the firmware upgrade process.
◼︎Ensure that the UPGRADE switch is not left in the UPGRADE position after the firmware update is complete - this prevents the bit Drive software from connecting to the bit amplifier over USB.
Note: Make sure the bit Drive software is not open on your PC. If it is, close it before updating the firmware.
Note: The ART/UPGRADE switch on the AF amplifier does not need to be switched to UPGRADE during the typical firmware installation. It is only required in extreme circumstances, such as an interrupted firmware installation which has caused the amplifier to malfunction.
Once the download from the Audison web page is completed, a folder named AFUpdate (vx.x.x.x) will be available in the Downloads folder. Open the AFUpdate folder, click on the file AFUpdate.
The following window will appear:
Please make sure to read all the warning messages before proceeding, and then press Update to start the process.
Wait until the operation is completed before disconnecting the USB cable or removing power from the bit device or the PC.
At the end of the upgrade, the following window will appear:
As per warning above, ensure that the Switch is not in UPGRADE position, and click on OK to restart the device.
The upgrade will complete and the device will be restarted.
