The latest bitDrive software and AF bit firmware releases are always available for download in the Audison web Support area.
1.1 PC SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
The bitDrive software can be installed in every PC equipped with Windows 10 or 11 operating system.
Once the new bitDrive release has been downloaded, the user can open the bitDrive (vx.x.x.x) folder, right-click on the executable file setup.exe and selecting Run as administrator.
The following window will show up;
Press Next to proceed.
Press I Agree to proceed.
Press Browse if the user wants to change the bitDrive folder location in the PC, otherwise press Next to proceed.
Press Next to proceed and wait until the installation is completed.
Press Close to terminate.
The icon of the software executable file and all other software folders will be available at the following PC patch C:\Program Files (x86)\Audison\bitDrive.
1.2 PC SOFTWARE UNINSTALL
To uninstall the bitDrive software the user can follow the standard procedure of Windows operating systems:
- Press: Start / Control Panel / Programs and Features
- Select bitDrive and press Uninstall
- Follow the procedure to complete the uninstall.
Note: at the end of the procedure, it will be immediately possible to install the new bitDrive release, without the need for restarting the PC.
1.3 PC SOFTWARE UPDATE
WARNING: before installing a new software release it is needed to uninstall the current bitDrive software program from the PC as shown in section 6.2 PC SOFTWARE UPDATE. If the user skips this step, this could lead to bad malfunctioning of the product.
Once the new bitDrive release has been downloaded, the user can follow the same installation procedure shown in section 6.1 PC SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
1.4 UNINSTALLING bit Drive SOFTWARE
◼︎ In case the bitDrive is currently running, make sure to close it before starting the firmware update.
◼︎ Pay attention to not disconnect the supply or USB cables, close any other application running, disable antivirus and antispyware programs, disable any standby or energy save PC option.
◼︎ The switch ART of the amplifier can be set in any desired position (ON, OFF or UPGRADE) before running the upgrade, but it is strongly recommended to not change its position during the procedure shown below.
Note: it is suggested to move the switch in UPGRADE position only if a previous firmware upgrade has not been successfully concluded because of connection problems between amplifier and PC.
Once executed the download from the Audison web portal, a new folder named AFUpdate (vx.x.x.x) will be available in the PC download area. Open the foder, right click on the file AFUpdate and select Run as administrator.
The following window will appear:
Please, make sure to read all the warning messages before proceeding, and then press Update to start the upgrade.
Wait until the operation is completed without disconnecting the amplifier or removing the supply.
At the end of the upgrade, the following window will show up:
As per warning above, make sure that the Switch is not in UPGRADE position and press OK to restart the device.
The upgrade now is completed, and the device will be restarted.
